St Mungo’s began helping people sleeping rough off the streets in 1969. Now we are one of Britain’s largest charities supporting people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Homelessness can happen to anybody – causes include relationship breakdown, financial pressures such as the loss of a job, mental illness or problems with drug and alcohol addiction.

We run services day and night to help homeless people change their lives and escape homelessness for good. We house over 1,900 homeless people in our accommodation every night, and we provide support with physical and mental health needs, drug and alcohol issues and help getting back into education, training and employment.

Our approach is to ensure that homeless people can help themselves. By looking at people’s strengths as well as their needs, we aim to help them achieve their goals and move forward with their lives

Of course, we couldn’t possibly accomplish this without the help of our supporters.
