Waverley Care is Scotland’s leading charity providing care and support to children and adults living with HIV or Hepatitis C.  The support offered by Waverley Care every year helps hundreds of people and their families cope with the practical and emotional challenges that a diagnosis of HIV or Hepatitis C brings.

HIV is an incurable medical condition.  Unlike other medical conditions, a diagnosis of HIV brings with it not only issues of poor health and a lifetime of medication and hospital visits, but also individuals face social exclusion, stigma and discrimination.  As a result of this discrimination, someone living with HIV will struggle to tell anyone about their diagnosis.  They will often cut themselves off from others which regularly leads to feelings of isolation, depression and despair.

At Waverley Care we believe every person has the right to be cared for, loved and respected, whether they are HIV/Hepatitis C positive or not.

From facilitating peer support to counselling and help with job applications, our work challenges the stigma and discrimination and helps people living with HIV or Hepatitis C in Scotland to enjoy the same opportunities in life as any of us.  Please help us in making a positive difference.
