Alcohol Focus Scotland is committed to improving the quality of people’s lives by changing Scotland’s drinking culture – promoting responsible drinking behaviour and discouraging drinking to excess.

Did you know…?  Alcohol misuse costs Scotland £2.25 billion per year.   Alcohol-related death rates in Scotland are double the rates for the UK as a whole.   Over 65,000 Scottish children are living in families where there are alcohol problems.

Alcohol Focus Scotland provides alcohol information and advice to the public and professionals through leaflets, resources, campaigns, the media and our website.

We offer a wide range of training courses for people working with someone who has an alcohol or addiction problem, or uses counselling skills as part of their work. We also offer more general alcohol awareness training. Our ServeWise training courses aim to set professional, responsible standards for all those involved in the sale of alcohol, from bar staff to Licensing Board members.

We manage several projects on behalf of the Scottish Government and other organisations including setting up a network of professionals who work with children and young people affected by alcohol, and an innovative community project working in Blackburn, West Lothian.

We are very grateful for the support we receive from Workplace Givers, which enables us to promote responsible drinking and reduce alcohol-related harm.
