Aberlour Child Care Trust

Aberlour is the largest, solely Scottish, children’s charity.  We operate over 40 services to and for children and young people, with a workforce of approximately 700 staff.  Aberlour aims to ensure 90% of all the funds we raise is spent directly on our services.

Today, Aberlour keeps 6000 children per year safe from harm.

Our range of services include looking after:

• Young people who have social, educational and behavioural difficulties
• Young people who run away from home and are exposed to risk of harm
• Children and Young people who have a disability
• Young children who need to experience positive parenting, play and early learning
• Children whose lives are affected by parental drug and alcohol dependency

We also operate the only refuge in Scotland for young runaways. This is a national service and unique in its approach. We are working directly with children on the streets. Of the 9000 children that runaway from home in Scotland every year, 15 children a day will be physically or mentally abused whilst on the run. Our refuge protects these children from harm.
