World Animal Day at Assisi

3 October 2012

October 4th is World Animal Day, a special opportunity for anyone who loves animals. October 4th was chosen as it is the Feast Day of St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. World Animal Day has become a day for remembering and paying tribute to all animals and the people who love and respect them. It is celebrated in different ways in every country, with no regard to nationality, religion, faith or political ideology.

Here is the mission statement for World Animal Day:

  • To celebrate animal life in all its forms
  • To celebrate humankind’s relationship with the animal kingdom
  • To acknowledge the diverse roles that animals play in our lives – from being our companions, supporting and helping us, to bringing a sense of wonder into our lives
  • To acknowledge and be thankful for the way in which animals enrich our lives

If you care about animals, don’t miss this special opportunity to help make animal welfare issues front page news around the globe – a vital catalyst for change!

Please do support World Animal Day by going to Assisi’s website on www.assisi.org.uk  to find more about what our charities do to help animals in desperate need of help in the UK and abroad.

Assisi Animal Charities Foundation is a group of five animal charities, all of whom work in various ways in the UK and abroad, saving thousands of animals in desperate need of our help.

Each donation Assisi receives goes to all FIVE member charities, making it an effective way of helping even more animals from a life of neglect, abuse or disease.  Support the ongoing work of Assisi with a donation from pay.  Thank You.
