Little Edeve wanted her room transformed into a pink fairy dell, so we at Make-A-Wish waved our magic wand…..
Edeve, who’s eight years old and from Shirrell Heath in Hampshire, lives with a Chromosomal Abnormality – which means that she spends a lot of time in her bedroom. She wished for Make-A-Wish to transform her room into a fairy’s woodland idyll, so while Edeve and her mother were out our team swung into action.
Edeve’s room is now fit for a fairy – a pink Dingley Dell of fibre-optics, twinkly lights and a bubble tube. It is hoped that the magical change of scenery, along with the sensory equipment that’s now been installed, will enhance Edeve’s quality of life and alleviate the pain she suffers as a result of her condition.
Elizabeth, Edeve’s Mum, said: “In the few days since Edeve’s room was transformed, her life has been made ten times better. She is like a different child – it is simply amazing.
“She can now fall asleep in her room instead of on the sofa in front of the TV and she is happy to stay in her bed when she wakes up. I just can’t thank Make-A-Wish enough for making Edeve so much happier and more content.”
In 2009, around 1,000 children will turn to Make-A-Wish to have their special wish granted. We need to raise £5 million this year in order to continue granting these magical wishes. Please help us to grant more magical wishes by donating through your pay today.
