The North London media also shared our disgust at the abandonment of two of our animals and reported the story on their pages in the hope someone may be able to give more information as to the background of this poor pup and poor puss.
In Pushkin’s case, someone had chosen to go to specific lengths to put her life in danger as they deliberately taped her up into a cardboard box and dumped her by a busy bin area. With no way of escaping the box and with depleting oxygen, Pushkin was incredibly lucky that a passer-by heard her cries and rushed her to The Mayhew, one of Assisi’s member charities. Understandably wary of people, Pushkin is currently in one of our foster homes, where she is learning to trust people once more.
Sadly we at Assisi are seeing an increase in the number animals being dumped, but with your help we will do what we can to save more animals from a life of neglect, abuse and disease.
