This year, for eight days over Christmas, Crisis wants to open its doors to homeless people at eight Christmas centres. Homeless people will feel part of a community, have somewhere to sleep and enjoy three meals a day – including a traditional turkey dinner on Christmas Day.  It takes more than a Christmas dinner to make a difference.

But Crisis Open Christmas is about more than just providing Christmas dinners.  We need to provide over 20 life-changing services from housing advice to medical check ups at our Christmas centres to help people find a route out of homelessness in the New Year.

We can’t afford to run these invaluable services without your support.

Minimum donation – £5 per month

  • £5 per month would sponsor 10 guests to have their Christmas dinner.  In a year, your monthly donation will pay for 120 dinners, last year we served 37,000 meals
  • £10 per month would sponsor one medical kit for use at the Open Christmas medical centre.  In a year, your annual equivalent donation of £120 could pay for 12 homeless people to receive vital medical treatment. Remember - £10 per month will only cost you £8 or £6
  • £35 per month would pay for one homeless person to receive 14 hours of tuition and support in literacy.  On average each homeless person needs at least 14 hours before they can enrol on a college course, so over a year, you will have helped an individual to achieve their goal. Remember – £35 per month will only cost you £28 or £21

We believe all of our guests have the potential to find a job and a permanent home, but they rarely get the chance to develop their skills and prove themselves.  At Crisis, we provide a range of services all year round enabling people to improve their education and enhance their skills, so they are more attractive to potential employers.

In return

At Crisis we want to make sure that we spend your money where it is needed most. As a result we will not be sending you a fluffy toy or even dirty dishes to prove where your money has been spent!

In return for your donations you will be able to eat your Christmas dinner with the satisfaction and warm glow knowing that you have helped change someone’s life that is less fortunate than you, and helped them take that first step out of their homelessness.  Many thanks
