Stroke Association
Part of Medical
We are the only UK wide charity dealing with stroke in people of all ages. Stroke is the UK’s second biggest killer and the leading cause of adult disability. Around 111,000 people have a stroke every year and what many people do not understand is that it can happen to anyone of any age – 25% of strokes happen to people under 65 and ten babies and children have a stroke every week.
The Stroke Association supports stroke survivors through our network of Life After Stroke services across the UK helping stroke survivors and their families to rebuild their lives. We are also the biggest funders of stroke research investing nearly £2.3 million pounds on work into stroke prevention and rehabilitation.
As a result of our awareness raising work, thousands more people can now recognise stroke symptoms and know they have to act FAST when a stroke occurs – Face, Arms, Speech, Time to call 999.
We could not continue our vital work in helping stroke survivors and their families around the country without generous donations from people like you. With your help we can provide even more services to help people affected by stroke to regain their lives after stroke happens.
