Sense Scotland
Part of Disability, Regional Charities
Part of the UK National Deafblind and Rubella Association, Sense Scotland is registered as a company with charitable purposes in its own right in Scotland.
Our roots go back to a small group of parents of deafblind children who came together in 1977 to offer mutual support and to press for the development of services. Sense Scotland was formalised in 1985 and now has a number of years of experience in providing highly specialised services.
We provide support to children and adults with complex support needs because of deafblindness, sensory impairment, learning disability or physical disability. We are a leader in the field of communication and innovative support services for people who are marginalised because of challenging behaviour, health care issues and the complexity of their support needs.
The children and adults we work with have a unique mix of disabilities, so we make the most of every opportunity. We can help them live life to the full and overcome amazing challenges every day due to deafblindness and disability!”
