The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (RHN) is a national medical charity that provides assessment, rehabilitation, treatment and care for adults with profound and complex disabilities caused by disease or damage to the brain and other parts of the nervous system.

We must raise over £2 million in donations each year in order to fund our groundbreaking research projects and to support the important services, equipment and facilities that make a real difference to our patients’ and residents’ lives.  Every day our staff work to improve the quality of life, independence and dignity of our patients and residents and every day we see someone regain a precious ability.

A resident who benefited from the specialised services provided at the RHN was undergraduate Adam, who was the victim of a hit-and-run traffic incident. His family were initially told not to expect much improvement from his minimally conscious state however after many months of intensive care at the RHN Adam’s hearing and vision vastly improved; a few years on Adam is now living independently.

“After his brain injury, I said goodbye to my son and was resigned to losing him forever.  Now, thanks to the RHN, he makes real progress and every day is a bonus” – Adam’s mother
