There are nine million people in the UK with some form of hearing loss – that’s one in seven of us.  And half of us will experience some level of hearing loss after the age of 60.  There’s bound to be someone you can think of right now – a friend, or someone in your family – who struggles with their hearing.

Hearing loss can be extremely debilitating.  It can make simple, everyday things like going shopping, watching TV or using the phone difficult or impossible.  And it can have a shattering effect on confidence.  We hear so many stories of people who have lost their hearing withdrawing from the world because they feel embarrassed or worse, stigmatised.

It shouldn’t be like this.  Supporting RNID through your pay will help us to create a world where deafness or hearing loss do not limit or determine opportunity, and where people value their hearing.

We work to ensure that people who are deaf or hard of hearing have the same rights and opportunities to lead a full and enriching life. We strive to break down stigma and create acceptance of deafness and hearing loss. We aim to promote hearing health, prevent hearing loss and cure deafness.
