PDSA
Part of Animal Welfare
The mission of PDSA is to care for the pets of needy people by providing free veterinary services to their sick and injured animals and promoting responsible pet ownership.
PDSA exists to help sick and injured pets whose owners can not afford their treatment. PDSA is Britain’s leading veterinary charity, and this year PDSA will provide more than 1.8 million free treatments to sick and injured pets and more than 200,000 preventive treatments. This year, our PetAid services will cost more than £48 million.
PDSA does not receive any funding from the government, so our work treating sick and injured pets is entirely dependent upon donations and regular giving from the caring public.
The average cost to PDSA of one course of treatment for a sick or injured pet is £143, although the actual cost of many treatments is far in excess of this figure. As you can see, support from the public is vital for us to be able to carry on providing the level of care and support pets need.
