Parkinson’s Disease Society
Part of Medical
The Parkinson’s Disease Society is the leading UK charity dedicated to funding research into a cure for the condition and improving the lives for people with Parkinson’s, their families, friends and carers. We help through:
Research – So far we have invested over £40million into pioneering research projects, which have already transformed the treatment and care provided for people living with Parkinson’s. With every research project we fund, we deepen our understanding of the condition and brings us one step closer to finding a cure.
Providing support – Across the UK we have a network of Information and Support Workers providing one-to-one information, benefits advice, emotional support and help with assessments and reviews. In addition we have over 275 Parkinson’s Disease Nurse Specialists who have not only transformed the level of care and medical advice provided to people with Parkinson’s but have also health and social care professionals knowledge of the condition.
Free Helpline and information – The Parkinson’s Disease Society’s Helpline (0808 800 0303) is a free and confidential service providing support to anyone affected by the condition. Our trained advisors, including specialist nurses, can provide information and advice about all aspects of living with Parkinson’s.
We are committed to helping everyone across the UK whose lives have been touched by Parkinson’s.
