National Society for Epilepsy
Part of Medical
As the UK’s leading epilepsy charity, we make a real and lasting contribution to the treatment, care and understanding of epilepsy.
At the National Society for Epilepsy (NSE), we do this by giving information, support and care; providing medical assessment, diagnosis and treatment; raising awareness and undertaking ground-breaking medical research.
Every day we:
- Provide face-to-face support and advice through our national network of trained volunteers, located in hospitals and clinics across the country.
- Give information and counselling via our Epilepsy Helpline – 01494 601 400 – and through leaflets, factsheets and DVDs.
- Connect thousands of people affected by epilepsy via our on-line forum, so they can share their experiences of epilepsy.
- Undertake MRI and EEG assessments, diagnoses, and provide treatments through our therapeutic drug monitoring, neurological and neurosurgical intensive care units.
- Raise public awareness by working with the media and through providing training to key organisations, such as through our Schools Awareness Programme.
We are also committed to our world leading medical research programmes. We are recognised as a centre for excellence by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and work in partnership with the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, and the Institute of Neurology.
With your support, we will continue to be there for everyone whose life is affected by epilepsy. Thank you.
