Compassion in World Farming is the leading international charity working to end cruel factory farming practices.  At any one time, around 40 billion animals are suffering in factory farms because of increasing demand for cheap meat and dairy products. Animals are forced to live in unnatural and often painful conditions: caged, confined behind bars, overcrowded in sheds, no access to daylight, forced to grow too fast, pushed beyond their natural physical limits.

We believe that factory farming is the biggest cause of animal cruelty on the planet.  Compassion in World Farming campaigns peacefully for a better life for all farmed animals. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we are able to:

  • Lobby at the highest levels for tougher welfare legislation and for the enforcement of existing laws
  • Work with retailers to encourage more compassionate sourcing policies, clearer labelling and the promotion of higher-welfare food
  • Produce information to help consumers make more compassionate shopping choices
  • Undertake hard-hitting undercover investigations exposing the reality of factory farming
  • Produce high-level scientific reports on farm animal welfare issues

Over the past 40 years, we have achieved real change to improve the welfare of farm animals throughout the world, but there is still so much more to do. So please, support us today.

Farming doesn’t have to be this way. But we need your help to change it.
