Every day 10 children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer and as the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, CLIC Sargent provides support every step of the way.

CLIC Sargent has one simple aim – to reduce the impact of childhood cancer and to do this their nurses, social workers, youth workers and play specialists provide clinical, practical and emotional support from the point of diagnosis. They also provide grants to help with extra costs, UK family holidays and free accommodation for families close to specialist cancer treatment centres in their Homes from Home.

CLIC Sargent believe young cancer survivors have the right to fulfil their potential in all areas of their lives so they help children and young people with cancer spend more time at home so that they can keep up with school or work, friendships and everyday life.

In 2010, CLIC Sargent’s health and social care professionals gave in-depth support to over 5,500 children and young people with cancer. It costs £3,750 to support each child or young person but because of a lack of funds, they are currently only able to help two out of three people who need them. Please help CLIC Sargent to be there for more children and young people with cancer.
