Church Housing Trust
Part of Homelessness
Church Housing Trust is a Christian organisation committed to changing the lives of homeless people. The projects we support provide services to approximately 3000 homeless people who often arrive feeling isolated, directionless, friendless, and sometimes in fear for their personal safety.
We raise charitable funds to support the work of over 70 projects for the homeless throughout England, which include mixed and single sex hostels; women’s refuges; projects for young people; supported housing for the ex Services; accommodation for vulnerable young parents and children; specialist supported housing for people with drug, alcohol and mental health problems, and projects for ex offenders. Our funds help turn hostels into homes and prepare homeless people for independent living through life skills and education and training programmes. We also help residents who are moving on from hostels with some of their resettlement costs.
Our funds provide:
- Welcome packs – food, toiletries and clothing.
- Resettlement packs – for residents moving on into independent living
- Life Skills training – budgeting, cooking, personal hygiene, numeracy & literacy etc.
- Support for training programmes - helping residents access education, training and jobs.
