Age UK
Part of Older People, Overseas Aid
Age UK has a vision of a world in which older people flourish. We aim to improve later life for everyone though our information and advice, campaigns, products, training, research and all the vital support and services that help transform lives everyday.
We believe that age needs respect. It needs kindness. Sometimes it needs help. Because we believe that there is strength in numbers. Age Concern and Help the Aged have joined forces bring together almost 120 years of shared history of working with and for older people to become Age UK – so that we can be here for everyone in later life.
- 1.8 million Pensioners (16%) live below the poverty line (a weekly income of £119 for single pensioners and £206 for a couple)
- The number of people aged 60 years and over is expected to rise by 50% in the next 25 years to almost 20 million in 2031
- Over 65s are estimated to spend an average of 80% of their time in the home – 90% for people over 85
- Age is a triumph of our times – a result of improved public health, sanitation and development. Yet 184 million older people worldwide still live in poverty.
Please donate to Age UK today though your pay, and together we can improve the lives of everyone in later life.
