Addaction

Addaction is the UK’s largest specialist drug and alcohol treatment agency. We are committed to developing and providing innovative and effective services to substance misusers delivered through our network of 70 projects located across the country.

Drugs and alcohol misuse not only affects the person with the problem but the consequences affect many more; families and friends, work colleagues and the community they live in are all affected.

Because substance misuse affects so many different people, Addaction works in three key areas.

Work with adults- All of our services are free and completely confidential, and can help with any concerns that arise with substance misuse.  A gift of just £5 per month can pay for five hours of specialist work by one of our drug workers

Work with young people – We know that adult services can be either intimidating or irrelevant to younger people, so Addaction provides services that are designed to meet the needs for those under-18.

Work with families – The impact of someone’s drink or drug problem on their family and friends is often overlooked. But it’s estimated that almost one in five of us are likely to have a family member affected in this way.  Addaction offers a range of support for families and carers affected by substance misuse.  By donating £15 a quarter could help fund four group therapy sessions designed to help a family address damaging patterns of behaviour.
